Speakers

  • Laura Schembri, Specialist Paediatric Respiratory Dietitian, Royal Brompton Hospital, London.

Prior to joining the team there, she worked as a dietitian across both rural community and metropolitan tertiary centres in Australia and the UK, in the areas of general paediatrics, paediatric allergy and neonatal intensive care. Laura has led research into the effect of CFTR modulators on fat-soluble vitamin levels in the paediatric population, which was subsequently presented at ECFS and published in the Journal of CF. She is a member of the British Dietetic Association CF interest group and the European CF Nutrition group.

  • Maeve O’Driscoll, Adult Cystic Fibrosis Dietitian and Adult CF Clinical Specialty Lead, Royal Brompton Hospital, London.

Although she has worked as a dietitian across a range of clinical specialities, she has predominantly worked in adult CF since 2010. This has included dietetic roles in other specialist CF centres in the UK (Southampton) and Australia (Melbourne). She is a member of the British Dietetic Association CF Specialist Group, the European CF Nutrition Group and was on the steering group committee for the Nutrition Guideline for CF in Australia & New Zealand (2017). Maeve also holds a Masters’ degree in Clinical Research in Nutrition from Imperial College London and has presented research data at both European and North American CF conferences, including work on vitamin D status and bone health.
