Lewis Mattin
BSc, MRes, PhD
I am currently a lecturer in human physiology at the University of Westminster, London, UK. My core responsibilities are course leader for the BSc Human Nutrition degree program and Level 4 human physiology module lead The world is vast and expansive; the humans living there are becoming bigger. Nevertheless, we all like a buttery biscuit base, and how you fill your belly matters. Dr Mattin is an active early career translational scientist with experience in exercise and nutritional physiology. His interests span from elite performance as an international swimmer to a range of physical activity topics that focus on how the human gastrointestinal system is regulated by the gut-brain axis, which in turn triggers an appetite response. This research aims to enhance knowledge related to metabolic regulation, time of day feeding, and weight management. Although this research has a strong exercise prescription origin, it has a compelling endocrine focus and a multidisciplinary approach.
