We’re putting you in charge of your membership

4 October 2023

Our new membership system will allow you to have greater choice and control over your membership, with everything you need in one place

A huge piece of work by the BDA team has been taking place over the last year, to get ready for the launch of our new membership system. Our new system, which is now up and running puts you in charge of your membership, allowing you to personalise your contact preferences, join new specialist groups and branches, update your payment details and check the status of your membership, plus much more!

The advanced capabilities of the system mean that many processes which were previously handled via email with our membership team can now be managed immediately through the website. So, if you have any queries regarding areas of your membership such as payment method, specialist groups, renewal date, your professional indemnity insurance certificate etc. these can now all be handled easily and swiftly online.

You will now also have the opportunity to pick which communications you receive from us, including if you prefer a digital copy of Dietetics Today or your welcome pack.

So, what do you need to do…

We now invite all members to log into your new MyBDA profile to ensure all your details with us are up to date. As your representative professional body, and for the majority of our members, your trade union, it is vital that we have an up-to-date record of your details.

This is now your opportunity to ensure we have all the correct information and a full profile for you. At your earliest opportunity check, and where necessary, update your:

  • Membership category
  • Specialist groups
  • Email address
  • Work address and employer information
  • Home address
  • Phone number
  • Renewal date
  • Payment method
  • Your interests and expertise
  • EDI (equality, diversity and inclusion) data

You can also update your communications preferences, to ensure you are getting the updates you need. All members are opted into the communications below as standard, so please update your MyBDA profile if you would prefer to opt out of any of them:

  • Dietetics Today (physical copy)
  • Membership pack (physical copy)
  • Information relating to events and courses
  • Products and services that may be of interest to you

What if you still need help?

Your membership team is still available to support you through this process and to pick up any queries outside of the capabilities of the website. Send an email to [email protected] and we’ll be in touch. We will most likely be directing you to the website in the first instance though, so please make sure you’ve visited MyBDA as your first step.
