NHS Scotland Pay Update 2022

12 August 2022

Following a consultative ballot, BDA Trade Union members working in NHS Scotland have voted to reject the proposed below inflation pay award. 68% of voters stated they were not prepared to accept the offer.

The pay award was unanimously rejected by all NHS Trade Unions covered by Agenda for Change and collectively, through the staff side of the Scottish Terms and Conditions Group, we have written to the Scottish Government to inform them of this.

The BDA Trade Union will now consult with its democratic structures on what action to take next. They will be considering all relevant options including whether to ballot for industrial action.

Chair of the BDA Trade Union National Executive Committee, Vicki Bennett stated: “The proposed pay award does not meet the current financial needs of staff and as such it has been rejected by those staff. The BDA Trade Union are proud to represent NHS workers and believe those workers deserve dignity in their employment as they carry out their vital work.”
