The BDA is developing new guidance for the dietetic support workforce which will cover appropriate roles and responsibilities at each level of practice. It has been developed as an extension to the ‘Professional Practice’ pillar within the BDA Career Framework, which is due to launch later this year.
The guidance focuses on the roles and responsibilities relevant to nutrition and dietetic practice, for those members of the support workforce who provide direct service user care in a clinical or public health setting. Through its development, it is hoped that this will ensure a consistent approach across the UK, assist local workforce planning, career progression and underpin safe and effective practice.
As we come towards the final stages of its development, we are giving members the opportunity to review the draft guidance and provide any comments or feedback, prior to its launch later this year.
This consultation is open to all members of the dietetic workforce, however, we are particularly interested in the views of members of the dietetic support workforce and those registered dietitians who supervise, manage or lead members of the support workforce.
We very much hope you can support us by completing the consultation survey and sharing this with your colleagues.
Take a look at a copy of the draft guidance and complete the consultation survey here.
