Access the recordings from the Renal Nutrition Specialist Group's Plant-based diets in CKD – tips and tricks webinar.

Associate Professor Kelly Lambert and Senior Renal Dietitian Claire Trimingham ran the virtual session.

There was brief discussion on the benefits and evidence for plant-based diet in CKD with scenarios based on practical application of plant-based dietary in a variety of patients with CKD.

The session covered meal ideas, key messages during education, strategies to facilitate change and role plays of discussions.

Dr Kelly Lambert, Associate Professor / Academic Program Director (Nutrition and Dietetics), University of Wollongong

Prof. Kelly Lambert is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian and Academic at the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia. She has more than two decades of clinical experience as a specialist kidney dietitian. In 2023 she joined the Dietitian Associate Council of the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism. Her research interests and values are supporting people with kidney disease to live better lives;  improving patient education by health professionals and educating future dietitians.

Claire Trimingham, Specialist Renal Dietitian, Central Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplantation Service (CNARTS)

Claire is a Specialist Renal Dietitian, with both Australia & UK experience & she’s been working with Central Northern Adelaide Renal & Transplantation Service (CNARTS) for over 10 years. Claire is passionate about nutrition care for people living with kidney disease in particular the importance of gut health & nutrition interventions that could improve this. She is a keen advocate for renal dietetics especially in the home dialysis space.
