Rising Star Award

This award is to recognise a rising star who has been in dietetics for ten years or less who have created a significant impact in the profession, in the early stages of their careers.

This award is not about young versus old, it is to acknowledge, celebrate and recognise the achievements of a member at the beginning of their career - shining a spotlight on their success and championing the profession.

Applications and nominations for 2025 are open until Monday 7 April at Noon. The 2025 awards will be presented on Wednesday 4 June in Birmingham.

Entry Criteria

This award is open for applications and nominations. To apply for the Rising Star of the Year Award you must:

  • Be a member of the British Dietetic Association
  • Have been graduated ten years or less

2023 Winner - Cristian Costas Batlle

Cristian’s passion, enthusiasm and interest in coeliac disease with his understanding of the need for outcome reporting, quality and service improvement in addition to his care and compassion for patients has really driven the service forward. Cristian has been instrumental in developing and building trusting relationships with the gastroenterologists who have supported us in the development of the dietetic-led service.
