In this webinar you will have the opportunity to learn more about the challenges and gaps in managing the diverse nutritional needs of the sickle cell patient population and how dietitians can play a significant role as recognised nutrition and dietetic experts to apply their nutrition knowledge and expertise to improve the dietetic care provision, access and outcomes of this marginalised patient group.
Dr Claudine Matthews is a registered award-winning Consultant Dietitian and national lead for sickle cell nutrition, being awarded the Dame Barabara Clayton Award by the British Dietetic Association in 2024. Her pioneering research and work are tackling the health inequalities in sickle cell nutrition and bridging knowledge and care provision gaps in this patient population. She founded the Sickle Cell Nutrition Academy dedicating its mission to improving the access and outcomes of sickle cell patients to nutrition and service provision.
