This one-day course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to provide dietetic care to patients with eating disorders in the acute inpatient setting. Combining theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and clinical case studies, we will consider dietetic assessment and intervention within this patient group. We will reflect upon the dietetic role within the multidisciplinary team and scope of practice. We will discuss ethical and legal issues including feeding under restraint. We will consider communication techniques and some challenges we may face when communicating with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
