Our significant media presence be impossible without our volunteer spokespeople. They provide a media presence across the printed word, online and on the TV and radio. Our spokespeople represent the BDA and the dietetic profession, often at short notice throughout the year on a wide range of topics.
This award recognises a spokesperson who has gone above and beyond in their role, by tackling difficult or high-profile stories or through providing consistent high-quality support.
Clare Thornton-Wood has responded to the most media enquiries this year and is a trusted pair of hands when responding to them. Clare is always happy to put herself forward and not just for the high-profile pieces, but also to support other media titles to ensure evidence-based food and nutrition messages are shared. Clare has won the award previously but that only demonstrates her commitment and consistency when it comes to the enquiries. Clare is also a huge supporter of BDA campaigns and we’re really grateful for all that she does.
