British Dietetic Association Reveals Clothes Show Glow Secrets

The British Dietetic Association (BDA) will be taking centre stage at Clothes Show Live, which runs from May 29 – 31 at London’s Excel Centre.

Following previous successful attendance at the Birmingham NEC Clothes Show Live, the BDA stand will focus on diet, health and feeling good with advice to those wanting to look good but without having to be a size zero.

Visitors will have exclusive access to free, private, 15-minute diet consultations from professionally trained dietitians. Food and diet experts will also on the stand to answer food and nutrition questions and provide goodie bags with top diet and health advice.

Also at the Clothes Show Live, the BDA will be launching its new ‘Nutrition and Skin Health’ fact sheet – the perfect reading material to ensure a healthy glow and a healthy body too. The fact sheet, written by registered dietitian and BDA spokesman Tanya Haffner, gives the low down and top tips on how what you eat can help you to keep looking good – feeding your skin from the inside.

Catherine Collins, registered dietitian and spokesperson for the BDA, says: "Attending Clothes Show Live in Birmingham proved to be a great success, we had plenty of interest from the public and the free consultations were a real hit with visitors to the stand. In London, we hope to build on this by offering visitors impartial diet tips and solid nutritional advice to help them make good food choices which help them look good and feel confident without compromising on their enjoyment of food."

Consultation with a dietitian can be booked by going to the Glow Zone’s reception area. Appointments are on a first come first served basis. The BDA’s Glow Zone can be found at Stand 10 in the Excel Centre so come on down and get your free diet consultation booked!

Journalists are also invited to take advantage of a free consultation with a dietitian and the opportunity to interview our experienced media-friendly dietitians on the stand.

See you there!

Notes to Editors

  1. The British Dietetic Association, founded in 1936, is the professional association for registered dietitians in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  It is the nation’s largest organisation of food and nutrition professionals with nearly 6,000 members. About two-thirds of members are employed in the National Health Service. The remaining members work in education, industry, research, sport settings or freelance.
  2. Registered dietitians hold the only legally-recognisable graduate qualification in nutrition and dietetics. They are experts in interpreting and translating the science of nutrition into practical ways of promoting nutritional well-being, disease treatment and the prevention of nutrition-related problems.  Their advice is sound and based on current scientific evidence. Registration, awarded by the Health Professionals Council, is an indication that a dietitian is fit to practise and is working within an agreed statement of conduct.
